Family Christmas Picnic 27th November 2016 (Pictures here)
The Nissan Patrol Club held a very successful Family Christmas Picnic at Hazelwood Park. With 43 members and children enjoying a sunny 28-degree day of fun and activities. We had eskies with caned drinks and fruit boxes and bubbly for the adults. Everyone bought their own picnic lunch and we had a beautiful site with lots of shady trees.
We all enjoyed our picnic lunch which was followed by Father Christmas making an entrance with the children singing "Jingle Bells". With his Ho! Ho! Ho! and helper Trish all the presents and lollies were distributed to all the children. Santa was a busy man so he had to say goodbye to everyone and head off to another Christmas Party.
Some families packed up and left for home, other sat around and enjoyed the weather and companionship of other members and families.
Many thanks to the Committee for all their help in setting up & packing up, assisting with all the tasks required and different jobs that were needed to make this day happen.
Theatre Night 14th October "The King and I"
The Nissan Patrol Club members, family & friends were treated to a night of entertainment with the Rodgers & Hammerstein’s "The King & I". The costumes, actors made this production a real hit. Truly a show for all the family. It is a classic, funny, tragic and highly entertaining show.
A really ultimately uplifting story set in the Eastern country of Siam. An English widow, Anna Leonowens, and her young son Louis arrive at the Royal Palace in Bangkok, employed by the King to serve as tutor to his many children and wives including heir Prince Chululongkorn. The King is largely considered to be a barbarian by the Western countries. He summons Anna’s assistance in changing his image and ways. With both trying to retain their respective cultural traditions and values, they gradually grow to understand and respect one another, in a truly unique love story.

Breakfast in the Park 20th December 2015 (Pictures)
Over 30+ members enjoyed our 27th annual” Breakfast in the Park” 2015. The weather was inclement, with umbrellas being erected & car awnings to protect us from the rain. This year our choir of female members sang a rendition of the “Deck the Tracks’ which was very successful. Our voices are improving with age.
Some of our members had breakfast before arriving due to the weather, while some of us enjoyed a mixed breakfast of salmon rolls, bacon & eggs, croissants as well as all those Christmas treats freshly baked and made. Rumballs, cheese balls, apricot balls, cakes, slices………Oh don’t we love this time of the year.

Visit to Redarc Lonsdale - June 17th 2015
At 7:00pm on June 17th, 18 members assembled at the premises of Redarc for a tour through their manufacturing facilities. Redarc research, design, develop and manufacture a large range of high quality items for the automotive industry, and of particular interest to us the 4WD market. The evening began with a short talk from Ben Marsh, National Sales & Marketing Manager, after which we were split into three groups for the tour. First though we had to attach antistatic strips to our shoes, as static charge is the enemy of all electronics.
The tour itself was really interesting, with the focal point on the SMT (surface mount technology) area. This is where all the tiny components are added automatically by machines to the circuit boards of the various products, at the rate of six per second!
The evening concluded with a short question session, and the drawing of a lucky chair prize of a new TowPro brake controller which was won by a very pleased Phil S.

Breakfast in the Park 22nd December 2013 (Pictures here)
On Sunday morning 22 December, 2013 45 to 50 members gathered in Hazelwood Park to celebrate our 25th Christmas Breakfast in the Park. The weather was cool and overcast when we arrived but cleared to be a beautiful morning. Strong winds a few days earlier had resulted in a number of limbs and branches falling from the gum trees and littering the park. In our usual corner the debris was gathered into a pile out of the way.
We all enjoyed our breakfast. Some cooked bacon and eggs on site while others brought a home cooked hamper. A number of lovely home-made tasty treats and fruit platters were shared around during the morning as well as glasses of bubbly.
This was again a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of club friends for a few hours prior to Christmas.
Christmas Family Picnic November 24th 2013 (Pictures here)
It was a beautiful 24 degree day at Hazelwood Park for the family picnic. There was a good roll up of 40 adults, accompanied by 12 children viz. There was also lots of friendly chatter amongst the adults. Each family provided their own lunch, with ice creams, soft drinks and juices, and bubbly for the adults was supplied by the club. There were plenty of lollies and balloons for the children too.
Judging by the smiles on everyone's faces the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and many thanks go to the willing members who helped organise the day.

Despite temperatures heading towards 40 degrees, a good time was had by all as they shared breakfast among the shady trees of Hazelwood Park. The ladies all broke into song at one point with a rendition of A Ute Christmas Carol, much to the bemusement of their male partners. It was a fitting end to what has been an outstanding year for the club, and we all look forward to 2013 to be bigger and better with more members, more trips, and above all, more fun!

On a lovely sunny day some 26 or so members and family joined in a great day at Hazelwood Park for the annual children's Christmas picnic. The children all enjoyed themselves playing on the swings, or just running around exploring the area. The adults present also enjoyed themselves, although at a more sedate pace, just happy to enjoy each others company. Father Christmas arrived around 2:00pm and distributed presents and lollies to the children, and the older children (ladies) all managed to sit on his knee and also got some lollies. It was a great day all around.

Mid year Dinner 2011 (Pictures)
Our Mid Year Lunch was held at the Pretoria Hotel at Mannum, situated by the riverbanks of the Murray River. 14 of our members made a weekend of it and stayed at the Mannum Caravan Park. The remainder of us made it a day trip up there. A total of 54 people attended and enjoyed a 3 course meal. It was noted by Colin our Vice President that it was the best attended Mid Year Lunch to date. As with most of our functions, it’s a great way for catching up with friends, especially members who have been on extended trips. One thing we can say about our club, we have plenty to talk about as well as enjoying each others company. So with Food, Fun and Great Company this made our lunch a great success. Many thanks to Jess & her staff for their friendliness and good old country service.

Slot Car Night- 8th May 2010 (Pictures)
John and Sue had kindly invited the Nissan Patrol Club and the Jeep club for a fun night of slot car racing. It was obvious that John had put a lot of effort into his hobby. He had started to build the track approximately 3 years ago and had used computer programs to design it. He viewed tracks from all around the world. Just trying to keep the cars at a racing pace and still stay on the track was quite a challenge. The Jeep club won a trophy for overall wins and the Patrol club won fastest lap trophy. A good turn out by both clubs and a great night had by all.
